PJ's are the Best!

As I've said before, David has William 2 days a week while I'm at work.  And for those of you who know David, know that he likes to "go and do".  So, this past Wednesday, David took William to go see his Great-Granny, Nell Teachey.  She was so excited to see him!  I'm sure she was happy to see David too :)

We got to see Clarkson and Campbell again this week.  Kristy babysat for us in the morning, and we babysat for her that night!  The kids were so cute in their "jammies!"  Clarkson had Thomas the Train pj's that had cute slippers to match.  So, you know David couldn't pass it up...

Here's Clarkson and David listening to some of Clarkson's favorite songs on the computer, including "You Belong to Me" aka the "I Wear" song from Taylor Swift and "I Gotta Feeling" from Black Eyed Peas.  And Campbell, striking a pose!

When we left, Kristy gave us more baby stuff (if that's possible!) including this excer-saucer!  So, I thought we'd give it a try.  William seemed to enjoy it!  His little feet barely reach the bottom, but I know very soon he'll be bouncing all over the place!

Also, I just wanted to post a few pictures of this too-cute outfit that William wore to church today.  It has a firetruck on it!  Thank you to our friends, the Marsh's, for giving it to us!  Haha...I'm not sure what baseball pitcher he's giving signals to in that second pic!

Back to Work

I survived my first week back to work! It actually wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. I know that is because I was able to leave William with David the first two days and my friend, Kay Lee the third day. She is so great. She is a pro! But I guess she has had a lot of practice ;) And well, William didn't seem to miss me at all - haha! Everyone at work gave me such a warm welcome - and flowers!

But the surprises didn't stop there! David and William also got me flowers!

How sweet is he?!

As for William...he is getting cuter every day (but I might be a little biased)! A few new things he's started doing - blowing bubbles, laughing at himself when he sneezes, and apparently playing video games (you know David was behind this)! Haha - the controller is as big as he is!

He's also been showing a lot of interest in our food! He just stares us down when we are eating. He has his 4 month checkup the first week in April, and I'm thinking the pediatrician might suggest introducing him to solids! So, I've been trying to see how he does in the Bumbo. He can sit up in it pretty well!

I just want to thank everyone, especially David and Kay Lee, for making this week so much easier for me! I'm so blessed to have such great friends and family!

Date night, and fun with the cousins!

This week David and I left William with a babysitter for the first time - and we both survived! Although I thought David was going to turn the car around for a minute there :) Hannah from our church watched William for us while we went on a date...just the two of us. It's hard to believe that that's the first time we've done that in over 3 months! We went to the movies and watched Alice in Wonderland (we really enjoyed it). Then we ate at one of our new favorite places, Pei Wei. It's funny, I wasn't so worried about Hannah, I was worried William was going to be bad for her! But she assured me that he was good :)

Today, we babysat Clarkson and Campbell for a little while, and William had a great time with his cousins! It will be fun to watch them play together once he's a little older.

The kids with Aunt "Mikki"! Notice how all 3 of them are watching TV...

Clarkson, after stealing a couple of Uncle D's Oreos!

Campbell started walking around her birthday, and now she can keep up with Clarkson! Look at her go!

It's really starting to seep in that I start work on Tuesday - it's hard to believe. I've been so far removed for the past 3 months, it's hard to imagine being back in that environment. I'm sure I'll be fine, but it will be hard at first. I'm glad I have great friends and family that are so supportive! Thank you all so much!!!

3 Months Old!

William is now 3 months old!  In addition to turning 3 months old this weekend, he was able to spend lots of time with family.  We were able to go see Kristy, Adam and the kids on Friday and go out for dinner.  On Saturday, David was kind enough to watch William while I went to a play with my mom.  It was a lot of fun, and probably good for me to get out for a while.  I need to get used to leaving him with other people because I start work next Tuesday! I'm so thankful that it is only part time.  Then on Sunday after church, David decided he was bored, so we drove to Clinton to see the grandparents.  They were all really surprised!  It turned out to be a great weekend!

Here's David and William having a lazy Saturday morning.

I know I said that William didn't do so well his first night in the crib, but I'm here to say, nesting is a lifesaver!  The very next night I rolled up a beach towel and put it under the sheets in a U-shape around the baby, and he has been sleeping in the crib wonderfully ever since!  I'm also really lucky that I can put him in his crib, and he can put himself to sleep.  No rocking or nursing.  He knows when it is bedtime!  Here's a picture of the big boy in his big boy crib!

Ok, so yesterday I made a joke about putting socks on Layla because her nails against the floor wake up the baby.  And I should have known not to make such comments in front of my husband.  Poor Layla...It's sad enough that we've let her go this long without a haircut (she normally gets one at Christmas, but the whole having a baby thing got in the way), and now this...

I've been tired of the cold weather, and I'm so ready for Spring!  So I thought maybe updating my dining room table decorations from Christmas will help move things along - haha!

Also, went out and bought decorations for our hall bathroom this weekend.  I think they turned out well!  I can't believe this bathroom hasn't been used since we moved in over a year ago.  I guess this means we can have guests sleep over now!

Grandmothers

In an earlier post I had mentioned the passing of my great grandmother, Pearl Corbett.  My mom found this picture we had taken at the nursing home when we went to visit on Christmas Eve.  We didn't remember taking it, but how wonderful it is to have a picture of William with his Great-Great Grandmother. Not many people can say that :)

My mom also sent me this picture of him with his Great Grandma Justice!  She thinks he's the "prettiest newborn she's ever seen!"

Now I just need to get a picture of him with his other two great grandmothers, Grandma Tart and Granny Teachey.  It also wouldn't be a bad idea to get him with his Great Grandpa Justice.  I'm horrible for not thinking to take pictures when we have visited with them.  I promise to do better ;)

Happy Birthday Campbell!

I just got the party pictures from my mom and wanted to post some.  William's cousin, Campbell, turned one January 25th!  She's such a cutie!  We are so glad that Kristy and Adam live so close, and that William will be able to grow up being close to his cousins :)

The decorations were great!

Here is the the little cupcake!  How cute!

And here is the birthday girl with her beautiful mommy!

Big brother, Clarkson, painting a cupcake!

The whole family helping Campbell with her many presents!

We had such a great time!  I can't believe William will be that big in just 9 months!

Moving out...

...of our bedroom, that is. Last night was the first night that our little man spent the night in his crib instead of the bassinet. It didn't go as smoothly as I hoped it would. I think David was more upset about him being out of our room than William was...it was actually kind of cute :) William did ok. He didn't scream and cry, but he did wake up...a lot. I was up at least once every hour to go give him his passie. I think he just wasn't as cozy, so he woke up more. I think tonight I'm going to try to "nest" him in the crib by using rolled towels underneath the sheets. Maybe this will help. I'm glad we decided to do this before I returned to work.

So, this week I made a stop by the office and realized that William is a huge flirt! He would be a little fussy with me and David, but then a pretty girl would hold him and he would be all smiles and giggles. Like father, like son I guess.

A new thing for the baby...trying to put his whole fist in his mouth. Sometimes he licks it over and over again, and it looks like he's holding a pretend ice cream cone - haha!

He also likes sitting and taking naps in the Boppy (Thanks Kristy for letting us borrow it!). I couldn't imagine being without it. It's so convenient to just sit him in, and I don't worry about him rolling off the couch. Look...so peaceful.

Little cocoon...

I'm so lucky that David likes to be involved! He loves to play with William, and doesn't mind changing diapers either...well, most the time :) Here he is being "silly Daddy!" By the way...I really do think the walking baby is scary. I've had nightmares about it!
