Happy Birthday Daddy!

David's birthday was this past Wednesday!  He had to work, so William and I made him his favorite - cupcakes, yellow cake with chocolate icing!  Some help William turned out to be...he just liked to lick the spoon! (Don't worry...I didn't really give him any, and I took the spoon away from him as soon as we took the picture!)

When David got home, we went to dinner at one of his favorite local restaurants, El Dorado, with Kristy, Adam and the kids! The guys at El Dorado love the policia, and sang "Happy Birthday" to David in Spanish.

Here's Clarkson and I helping Uncle D blow out the candles! Clarkson didn't understand why the cake said "Happy Birthday Daddy" because it was Uncle D's birthday! haha!

Only David would insist on eating this cupcake!

Haha....that cup is as big as Campbell!  She's sneaky - stealing David's "pop" juice!

Don't worry, William didn't miss out on the fun.  He was just chilling in his car seat!

Well, we have some more festivities planned, and he's been enjoying his new video game for a couple of weeks now.  So besides the getting older part, I think he enjoyed his birthday :)

National Princess Day!

Surprise!!!  Last week, we (with Beth as our leader/conspirator) had a surprise birthday part for Lauren!  It was so much fun.  It was the first time we had all been together, with the boys, in a long time.  As another little surprise, we all wore our Tax Break '09 T's from last year.  Except Kaila who couldn't find hers.  We all sense her "big-boned" kitty, Chupi, may have something to do with that ;)

Happy Birthday, Princess!!!

Fun weekend!

Happy Birthday Pop-pop!  Today is my Daddy's 50th Birthday!

We love you and can't thank you enough for all you do for us!  Hope you and mom have a great time at the beach - you definitely deserve it!!!

We celebrated another birthday this weekend - Clarkson's!  He had a Cars Party with an awesome Cars cake!

Blowing out the candles!

Aunt B and Miss Priss at the party!

Clarkson trying out his new Buzz Lightyear backpack.

Of course, David needed to try it out too!

Hanging out after the party!

Papa John and LG came to see us this weekend too!  And they brought William some new summer wear - bathing suit, polo to match, sunglasses and shoes!  Here is sporting his new shoes and sunglasses!

Also, I promised some pictures of William eating cereal - here are a couple from today.  I think he's getting the hang of it!!!

LOL!

So, the baby has had a couple of tough weeks. I'm not sure if he's going through a growth spurt or what, but he's just not been his happy self lately. Usually the problem starts around 6:00pm. He just gets really fussy and he hasn't been sleeping as well. What happened to my little angel that slept from 9pm to 5am? Kay Lee called and suggested we give him some rice cereal. It should help him keep his food down a little better and hopefully help him sleep better at night. So, for the first time today, she gave him rice cereal from a spoon! I wish I could have seen it :) She said he did great, and really seemed to like it. I will be sure to post some pics/video of William eating soon!

Regardless of William's bad mood lately, David was able to get him to laugh out loud! It cracks me up every time!

Who knows...maybe William is starting to protest this horrible treatment! Poor baby! I'm sure you can guess who is behind this...

Also, new this week, William can officially roll over - both ways! That is front to back and back to front! Of course the first time he rolled over from his back to his front, I was at a play with my mom. So, David had the baby for just a few hours - and I missed it! Oh well! Guess missing his first "back to front roll" and real meal isn't the end of the world. Also, I wanted to thank my mom for taking me to see Cinderella! It was so cute - and really made me want a little girl after seeing all of those cute little princesses running around :) But for now I guess I'll stick with frogs and snails and puppy dog tails!

Happy Birthday Uncle Spence!

Happy Birthday Uncle Spence!!!

OK...so I needed to catch up this week. My brother's birthday was on April 13th - which happens to be a very busy day for me. So, I guess I'm a horrible sister for not posting earlier, but in reality, it just wouldn't be normal if anyone in my family acknowledged birthdays on time! I did get his card 2 weeks early, but still haven't managed to mail it...

Anyway, this will be my brother's last birthday on his mission! He's coming home in less than 5 months! William is so excited to meet his Uncle Spence! We love you, Spencer!

Happy Birthday Aunt Lolli! And Happy Tax Day!

William wants to wish his "Aunt" Lolli a very Happy Birthday! Yes, she is CPA and her birthday is April 15th! I guess that just gives her another reason to look forward to the 15th! Here is Lauren with William at the hospital the day after he was born :) Look how tiny he was!

So, this week I've been reflecting on the past year a lot. I guess it is because this week last year was the week I took the pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant! I can't believe how much has changed in just a year. Last year this week I was laying on the beach with some of my closest friends, and now I'm at home with a 4 month old!

Here are some pics from our Tax Break 2009 beach trip last year :)
Melissa, Lauren, Kaila, Beth and me!

You guys are the best!!! Thank you all for being such great friends! I'm glad I was able to share the good, the bad and the ugly with you over the past year! May there be many more! :)

almost over...

Last week of tax season! I know that I've only been working 3 days a week, but coming back to work in the middle of busy season has been rough. It's also been hard because even though I'm back, we've all been so busy that I haven't really been able to enjoy being back with my good friends at work. Who knows...maybe they'll agree to go get mani-pedi's with me after the 15th :)

This past week has also been a little rough with William. I'm hoping his fussiness and waking up in the middle of the night are side effects of getting his vaccinations. The only other thing I can think it might be is teething, but the doctor said he didn't see any teeth coming in. All I know is he has been drooling a lot and chewing on his hands, toys, my fingers...everything. Oh well...I guess we'll see. He actually did a little bit better last night and today. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tonight!

Here is the silly boy playing with his duckie!

4 months old!

William turned 4 months old yesterday, and has his 4 month checkup was today.  And the numbers are in...

Height - 23 1/2 inches long      12%
Weight - 11 lbs. 10oz.      4%
Head Circumference - 15 1/2 inches     3%

So, he's a bit on the small side.  At first the doctor seemed a little worried because his weight had stalled, but then he noticed that his height had slowed down at about the same rate.  He said that he might just be small because David and I were kinda small babies.  He also said that his development is right on track!

William was very good at the doctor's office.  He was smiling and laughing at the nurse and doctor, and then they had to give him his shots :(  An oral vaccine, which he loved, and two shots, one in each leg, which he did not love.  One of them bled a little bit, and poor David could hardly handle it.  It's funny that he can look at the horrible things he sees at work without any problem, but when it comes to my blood, his blood, and now, William's blood - he just can't take it :)  Although William had a fit at the doctor's office after his shots, he's doing much better this time around at home.

At 4 months, William is laughing out loud - it's the cutest thing I've ever heard.  He's grabbing things, and putting everything in his mouth.  He loves kicking his legs, or "riding the bicycle" as David likes to call it.

He also loves playing with Daddy!

And sleeping in late with Daddy!

So precious

I just love that smile!  We are so blessed to have such a sweet, healthy baby!

Happy Easter and Happy Birthday Clarkson!

We were able to go to Clinton and see our families this weekend for Easter!  Easter also happened to be Clarkson's birthday - he turned 3!  This weekend was also General Conference for our church.  What a great weekend!

Beth, Joseph and I decorated Easter eggs - it was a lot of fun.  I haven't decorated Easter eggs in years, and I don't think I've ever decorated monster eggs!

This one was made especially for David!  It kinda looks like him, right? :)

Here are some pictures of the kiddo's hanging out this weekend...

How cute are they?!

And here's another cutie - Layla with her new haircut which was badly needed!  They even put bows in her hair!

She found a new friend at Mom's house :)

And here is everyone at church on Sunday :)  Somehow David and I didn't make it into any of these pictures.

We were also happy to see David's parents this weekend, even if for just a short time!  It's harder to see them now that David and his mom work different weekends.  But we're lucky that they've been able to come to our house and visit after John's doctor visits.
