William turned 15 months old March 6. He also had his 15 month checkup this past Monday, and here are the results:
Weight: 21 lbs. 14 oz. - 12%
Height: 31 1/4 inches - 50%
Head: 17 3/4 inches - 10%
Other than the 3 booster shots, the appointment went pretty well. Here is a picture of the big guy at 15 months.
At 15 months, some of my concerns include:
Addicted to the bottle - We've been trying to transition William to a cup since he turned a year old, but it hasn't been going very well. He will drink water out of cups all day long, but refuses to drink milk out of a cup. We've probably tried 5 or 6 different types of cups, but none will do! He just pushes (or throws) them aside. I asked the doctor what he thought and he said we should take it away now because it will only get harder the longer we wait. So, for the past few days William has not had a bottle. It's been pretty rough for everyone involved, and he's probably only had maybe 2 ounces of milk. He still refuses the milk, and just drinks water. If he doesn't do any better over the weekend, I think I'm going to call the doctor and let him know because I am worried that he will just stop drinking milk altogether.
Hitting - I've been called to help out in nursery at church. So, William gets to play with the big kids (18 month to 3 year olds). He's also learned how to "assert" himself, as the doctor put it. He gets mad when other kids take his toys, and has started to hit. He also runs around and chases Layla, and tries to hit her. I don't think he does it to hurt anyone. Sometimes I think he does it just to get a rise out of me. Either way, we are hoping this is just a phase. The doctor didn't seemed to be worried as long as he enjoys playing with the other kids...which he does.
He's not all bad though :) He has started blowing kisses and cuddling (a little) more these days. He is so sweet. He thinks everything is funny! He enjoys using mommy's hairbrushes - especially when she needs them. He also enjoys playing in the cabinets and even hiding his cups, bottles and other things inside them. He likes shaking his head no at everything...not in a mean way, but more in a silly way! He has also been using a lot of signs lately - light, night-night, shoes, more, hot, cup, and eat - and he understands even more - book, sit, and thank you. He still doesn't say much as far as real words, but he does like to talk! He has also started trying to really help out when getting dressed. We just love our little guy, and we are excited to see what changes are in store for us in the next few months!
