Baby Boy #2!

David and I were able to see our baby on Tuesday...finally!  It always amazes me how much you can see on an ultrasound.  The ultrasound technician was was taking all the measurements and showed us the heart which was beating 154 beats per minute.  Then, she showed us what we had been waiting for!  As soon as I saw it, I said "that's the boy shot right there, isn't it?" And she confirmed, "Yes, it's a boy!"  We are very excited for William to have a brother!

She said that everything was just perfect.  He was measuring 19 wks 3 days, and I was 19 wks 2 days.  He was moving around a lot and kept putting his hand around his face, like William did during his ultrasound.

Look closely, and you can see his little foot!

And here is a 3d picture of his face.  I think it looks a lot like William's picture when we had this ultrasound done with him at 18 weeks!

Baby Boy #2 at 19 weeks!

William at 18 weeks!

Who knows...maybe all babies look the same this early :)  It was great to finally see the baby, and knowing it will be a boy just makes it seem much more real!  I'm glad David is able to come with me to my appointments - especially this one.  It's great to see how excited he is for this little one!  Now that we know we're having a little boy, we can really start thinking about names (which we already have one in mind) and how we're going to decorate!

Beach Trip!

A couple weeks ago, we had our first beach trip of the summer!  Beth and Joseph were also able to join us for a few days.  We went to Cherry Grove Beach.  Our resort was great!  We ate breakfast on the balcony every morning.  What a view!

William loved being out on the balcony.

David's favorite part of the resort was the Lazy River!  It was definitely much warmer than any of the pools!

I thought William would have loved the pools, but to my surprise, he actually liked the beach much better.  I think the pools were just too cold!

"Ok mom! I'm ready for the beach!"

Finally, we made it to the beach!

William loved playing in the mud!

Ready to go to dinner!

David, William, and I went to Barefoot Landing, and William got to ride the Carousel!

One night we all went to Broadway at the beach, and had dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse!  It was lots of fun.  William loved feeding the fish and turtles and Barefoot Landing and the swans at Broadway at the beach!

Haha...William didn't know what to think about this bear!

Finally, we all went and played putt-putt at Molten Mountain!  I was worried about how William would do, but he had a great time, and even made a Hole in One!

What a great vacation!  We had a great time!  Hopefully we'll make it back to the beach a few more times before the summer's over!

19 Weeks

I am 19 weeks pregnant today!  Things are going well.  I've been feeling fine.  Only complaint would be difficulty sleeping.  Not only can I not get comfortable, but I've been having the craziest dreams throughout this pregnancy.  I know I said we were supposed to find out the sex of the baby June 15th, but my OB practice called to reschedule :(  So now we have to wait til Tuesday.  I can't wait!  I'm so ready to find out boy or girl!!!  I've also been able to feel the baby move the past couple of weeks!  It's very exciting and reassuring :)  I can't wait til they are strong enough for David to feel too!

Well, here is a picture at 17 weeks.

Hopefully my next post will be Boy or Girl!

Happy 18 Months!

William's 18 month-day was June 6th!  I can't believe he is already 1 1/2!  He also had his 18 month checkup, and the numbers are in...

Weight:  23 lbs, 2 oz. - 17%
Length:  31 3/4 in. - 40%
Head:  18 1/8 in - 10%

At 18 months, William is running, climbing, and jumping all over the place!  He knows lots of signs now.  His most recent additions are please, flowers, bird, and bubbles.  He still doesn't say many words.  He says mama, dada, Layla, and bye.  He may say many more words, but these are the only ones I can really make out :)  He LOVES being outside.  He also enjoys blowing bubbles, chasing Layla, and eating!  He's also learned how to blow kisses, and blows kisses to everyone!  It's so cute.  I think his hitting problem is starting to wane.  I can really tell he stops and thinks about it, and a lot time decides it's best not to!  Yay William!  Now, his new naughty habit is screaming.  He's started to squeal and scream if he doesn't get his way, or sometimes just for fun.  Hopefully that will be a short phase because it's starting to drive us crazy!

Apparently 18 months is the legal driving age in Fuquay!

Sitting in a big boy booster seat!

Say "Cheese!"

What a cutie!  We love you, William!

Marbles!

We took a family trip to the Marbles Museum in Raleigh a couple of weeks ago!  We had such a great time.  It was our first time going, and I was a little worried that William might be too young, but he had a blast!

His (and David's) favorite part was the Piggy Bank room that was kind of a huge ball pit!  What a fun place!  I'm sure we'll be returning again soon!
