12 Weeks Old!

Today William is 12 weeks old! I can't believe it has already been 12 weeks. I also can't believe I have to go back to work in 2 weeks :( At least I'm only going back 3 days a week for a while. I'm sure he'll be fine...I'll probably be a mess! Really...who wants to leave this cutie?!

William and I went to church today all by ourselves for the first time. He actually slept for all 3 hours! I managed to carry him in his car seat - which is really a feat for me! I can hardly pick it up! We'll see if I can do as well when church starts at 9am instead of 2:30pm!

So, David and I finally got new appliances! Now we just have to find someone to run a gas line for us, since my handyman never showed. But thanks to my Dad the dishwasher is up and running! Thanks, Pop Pop! It looks great!

I also wanted to thank my Mom for watching William (and waiting for the handyman) yesterday while I went to the Fuquay Varina Groundbreaking! That's a ceremony to kick off the building of our new church in Fuquay. We are really excited about it. It's supposed to be completed sometime this year. Then we won't have so far to drive to go to church! It's also great to see how much the church is growing in this area!

David helped me a few weeks ago to put up these pictures! I think they turned out great! Slowly, we are starting to look like we actually live here! No more blank walls!

Rockin' and Rollin'

Today was an exciting first for us - William rolled over! I put him on his tummy for "tummy time" and he just rolled right over onto his back. First I thought it was a fluke, so I put him back on his tummy...and he did it again! Of course when I tried to get him to do it for the camera, he refused. Oh well, at least David was home to see him the second time he did it! I love how Layla is in the background looking at us like we are all crazy!

Dear Aunt B

So sorry we forgot to post about your awesome Super Bowl Party. It was so much fun. And the food was great!

To make it up, I wanted to show off this super-cool shirt you bought me!

Love, Willby

11 weeks today...and Nursery pics!

Ok...I know this is late, very late, but here are some pictures of William's room!

He's still sleeping in our room in the bassinet. But now that he is sleeping through the night, we're going to try putting him in his crib soon. I'll let you know how that turns out.

So, we've had a busy couple of weeks. After his shots, he had a pretty rough week. The doctor said his legs probably hurt from getting the shots :( But he's back to his normal self now!

We went to my niece, Campbell's 1st Birthday Party last Saturday. It was a lot of fun, and the cupcake theme was too cute!

We went to Aunt Lolli's house on Thursday to see Aunt CC, Lauren's mom :) Thank you to Carolyn and Jenny for the cute outfits...and for the spaghetti - yum!

Last night, we met Ashley, Jason and the girls for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory! It was a lot of fun, and William really enjoyed seeing Annecy and Livia! We are sooo glad that you guys live closer now - we love seeing you more often! We also wanted to thank Uncle Jason for the gift card! Oh yeah...Ashley, CONGRATS on getting into dental hygiene school!

Today, David and I stayed home from church sick :( I actually feel much better, but last night, I had a fever of 101.1 - yikes! And David has been sick with a sinus infection all week. Even the baby didn't sleep as well as he normally does last night. I think he was just a little stuffy. He seems to be doing fine today :) We decided since it's such a nice day out, we would go for a walk around our neighborhood. It was really nice to get out and get some fresh air - I'm so ready for this cold weather to be over with!

Well, William is 11 weeks old today! And here's a big smile from the big boy!!!

William is 2 Months old!

Okay...so he was actually 2 months old on Feb 6th, but he had his 2 month appointment with the pediatrician today. And the numbers are in...

Weight: 10 lbs, 8 1/2 oz. (30%)
Length: 23 inches (50%)
Head: 14 3/4 inches (10%)

The doctor said his growth was great. Everything else was good too - his head is a pretty shape, his color is good, etc. He was actually doing really great, but then it was time for the shots :( He didn't do too bad. He really liked the oral vaccine, but that was short lived because she then gave him 3 shots, two in the right leg, one in the left. He cried, but not for long. I fed him afterwards, and he calmed down. It is kinda funny to see the kiddie band aids on his legs - they look so big on his little legs! Also just wanted to say, David did a good job keeping it together - no crying or passing out!

This past week, William has started sleeping through the night!!! Well, from about 11pm to 5am. Definitely better than 12am, 2am, 4am, 6am, and so on... They said this was great - some babies don't start sleeping through the night until 4 months! He's also started smiling and laughing a lot more - so cute!

So, at 2 months William...

likes:
mommy's singing
his bubble gum flavored reflux medicine
daddy's voice
riding in the car/being in the car seat
and of course, eating

dislikes:
Layla "tap dancing" on the wood floors
getting his diaper changed
changing clothes
taking baths
or anything else that requires him to be naked

is not sure about:
daddy's singing
(It's actually really funny. He will smile, and then frown, poking his bottom lip out as far as it will go)
his passie
(Most of the time he takes it fine. Other times he acts like I put a lemon in his mouth)

Also, at 2 months, he still gets the hiccups...a lot!

William's Baby Blessing

Yesterday was a very special day - William's Baby Blessing! I'm so grateful to have a wonderful husband who holds the priesthood and was able to give William a name and a blessing. He was very nervous, but did a great job! William did a good job too! No crying :) Thank you to Jason Pratt, my dad, and Bishop Austin for helping David with the blessing. We are so blessed to have such great friends and family who came to be with us for this special day.

Here is William in his Baby Blessing outfit (Thanks to my Aunt Cindy!)

Our friends, Ashley and Jason Pratt, and their beautiful girls, Annecy and Livia

Our friends, Lauren and Casey Worley
Thank you guys so much for the Baby Blessing photo album - I love it!

David's parents, John and Jackie Brown, Papa John and LG (Little Granny)

Now for my family - there's a lot of us! My parents, Clark and Janet Tart, Pop Pop and Grandma. Aunt Kristy and Uncle Adam, and their two cuties, Clarkson and Campbell. William's Great Grandma Tart. And finally, my sister Beth and her boyfriend, Joseph, better known as Aunt B and JuJu.

We're just missing my little brother, Spencer. But he'll be home from his mission in California in just 6 months, and William can't wait to meet his Uncle Spence!

I also just wanted to say how happy I am that William was able to meet his Great-Great Grandmother, Pearl Corbett over the holidays. She passed away this week, and we attended her funeral this past Saturday. She was 93 years old. We love her very much and know she is in a better place.

Snow Day!

Last week, we had a snow day! It was nice to be snowed in. Too bad David still had to work.

This was William's first snow, so we had to get a picture! We bundled him up just to go outside for about 15 seconds!

Layla enjoyed playing in the snow too!

Our home!

The snow may have put a stop to a lot of things, including church last Sunday, but it didn't stop my parents from coming to see the grandkids!

"Pop Pop" and William, or as my dad calls him, "Sweet Willy D"

Snow days are good days to nap!

Two hours later...
