Splish Splash!

It has been so warm outside, I decided I was going to take William outside to play with the water hose.  Then David decided we needed to take a trip to Wal-Mart that turned into getting a swimming pool!  Not a very big swimming pool, but I know we will enjoy it this summer!  William definitely enjoyed it yesterday!

Funny how this time last year, he wouldn't even let you put his toes in the water!

15 weeks!

This past week I had another doctor's appointment.  Everything was great!  I got to hear the heartbeat - an amazing 162 beats per minute!  Our next appointment is June 15th.  At this appointment we get to have another ultrasound and we get to find out the sex of the baby - if the baby is cooperating that is.  Hopefully he or she will be because we are so excited to find out!

We actually took the Intelligender test a couple of weeks ago, and it predicts we are having another boy!  The test was right with William, so I guess we'll see if it 2 for 2 in June!  We will be happy either way.  As long as it is healthy!

Ok...so I've not felt like the baby bump is very cute these days, but it is showing enough that I thought I should start taking pictures. So here it is at 14 weeks 5 days.

A few things I missed...

William has become such a big kid lately.  He can now climb up on the kitchen chairs, which gives him access to a lot of things.

Here he is helping himself to some doughnuts!

He's also been sleeping so well!  And he knows he only gets his paci in his crib, and in the car.  When we go to get him out of his crib, he either hands his paci to us, or throws it into the crib!

Here he is helping mommy make dinner!  David thought he'd capture the moment because I don't cook very often.

William loves going with Daddy to all the fun places during the day.  Here he is trying out some tractors at the Tractor Supply!

My whole family went out to dinner and to Goodberry's afterwards for David's (and my brother's and my dad's) birthdays.  William and Campbell loved the fountain at Goodberry's!  And the ice cream was pretty good too!

Happy Mother's Day!

It's still a little strange to me to actually be honored on mother's day!  I'm so blessed to be a mother to William.  He's such a sweet child (most of the time :) ).  Even though David had to work on Mother's Day, it was still a good day.  William actually behaved really well, and got me these tulips!  I also got two very sweet cards.  I must be the luckiest mom in the world!

I also wanted to take a moment to say Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there - especially my mom, who has been such an inspiration in my life.  Thank you for everything.  I love you.

Hiking with Daddy!

This post is a little late, but last month, David took William to Raven Rock to go hiking!  Looks like they had a great time together, and that makes me very happy because now David has someone he can do those outdoorsy things with!

Ready to go!

Climbing rocks!

William loves playing with sticks!

Apparently William didn't like having to get back into the backpack once he was out and playing around.

What a great day!  It won't be long before they are camping, and William is carrying his own backpack!

13 weeks!

No, not William...me!  I will be 13 weeks pregnant tomorrow!  Ok..here is everything leading up to this point...

When David and I decided to try for #2, we didn't expect it to happen so fast!  Well, at least I didn't.  I expected it to take at least a couple of months.  Just goes to show, don't start trying until you are sure you are ready!

The baby is due November 13, 2011.  We are very excited!

I took the pregnancy test March 3rd, again when David wasn't home.  I didn't want to make the same mistake I did with William, so I went straight for the digital test!  I didn't want to be one of those 1 in 4 women that misread their pregnancy tests...again :)  Anyway, so I took the test early in the morning before David got home from working night shift.  I took the same little duck booties (see my very first post if you don't know what I'm referring to), and hung them on the door knob.  I knew he would know exactly what this meant!  And he did!  As you can imagine, he was very happy!

We had our first prenatal appointment at 8 weeks, and the doctor said everything was perfect.  We had an ultrasound and the doctor said the baby was measuring exactly to the day!  We were also able to hear the heartbeat for the first time - it's always amazing to me how fast it is!

We waited a little longer to tell our friends and family this time, mostly because it's hard to get my family all together at once, and I had been much more nervous about this pregnancy than I was with my first.  Anyway, we told my family after Clarkson's birthday party (I was 10 weeks at this point), and told David's parents the next night when they came over for dinner.  Everyone seemed shocked and very happy for us!  I was also very excited to tell my girl friends on our NY trip!  They are all excited to be Auntie's all over again :)

We went for another appointment when I got back from NY at 11 weeks, and to my surprise, my doctor took another ultrasound!  I think he was just being nice :)  Dr. Henderson was the same doctor who delivered William.  Sadly, he will not be working anymore by the time this baby comes.  He and his wife are going on a mission for our church (yes, they are LDS too) to Bogota, Columbia.  We are very excited for them!

Well, here is the "Kid," as our doctor put it, at 11 weeks!

I've been very lucky with this pregnancy so far.  Not much morning sickness at all.  The main symptom I've been having is extreme exhaustion!  I just want to sleep all the time!  I'm already showing some, whether it's noticeable to others or not, I can't really tell.  I will start taking Belly Bump pics soon, I just haven't felt like it's cute enough for pictures yet :)

We are so excited, and are anxious to see how William will do with a little brother or sister!

Happy Easter!

I got back from my NY trip just in time for Easter, so William and I spent Easter at Grandma's!  Sadly, David had to work, so he missed out on the Easter bunny, but I got a few pictures of all the goodies he brought!

Looking sharp and ready for church in their Easter outfits!

I'm so grateful for this time of year when we can celebrate the gifts of the Atonement, and remember the great sacrifice that allows us to be eternal families and return to our Father in Heaven.

Sneak Peek

of my NY trip!

...a much longer/more detailed post to come!

Happy 17 Month day to William!

A lot has happened in the last two months.  For starters, no more bottle!  William drinks milk out of a cup now.  The trick - Nestle Strawberry Quik.  At first it was the only way he would drink milk out of a cup, and now no more pink milk!

Recently, he has found out that he can climb up in the kitchen chairs, which has led to trying to climb on top of the table.  Nothing is safe anymore.

What I love about my little guy these days:  He hugs by laying his head on you.  I'm not sure why he does this, but it is very cute!  He loves to give kisses - most of the time they are still open mouth kisses, but I can tell he's working on it :)  He also enjoys giving High-Fives and "pounds."  The thing about kisses and high-fives is, if he gives one to me or David, he must find the other of us give them one too.  He usually goes back and forth numerous times til he's all kissed or high-fived out.  He still LOVES to dance - in the car, when he hears the opening to some of our favorite shows, and basically anytime he hears a good beat :)

He still enjoys playing with Layla, even if the feeling isn't mutual.  He's getting really good at throwing balls, and is always very proud of himself when he throws them for Layla, giving himself a good clap.  He also LOVES to play outside.  At the park, I was amazed and a little frightened at how brave he was on the slides.  He had no problems coming down them all by himself, even though he could hardly hold himself up at first.  He also enjoys playing in the dirt, and putting big handfuls of dirt in his hair!  Yes, it is very messy, but I guess that's little boys, right?  I don't have pictures from the park, but here are a few of his first time of a play house at Chick-fil-A.

We just love our little guy, and can't believe how fast he is growing up!

Big like Daddy

Nap-Time Buddies

David went to pick William up from Kay Lee's, and found William and his friend, Lizzy, napping on the couch together!  So cute!  He must have been exhausted because I can't get him to sleep anywhere but his crib!

Happy 4th Birthday, Clarkson!

Clarkson turned 4 years old April 4!  We all celebrated at his Mario party!

Mushroom cupcakes

Toadstool gift bags

Clarky blowing out the candles!

Campbell enjoyed her cupcake!

All the kids lined up for a turn at the pinata.  Even William had a turn!

We can't believe how big Clarkson is getting and it's hard to believe he'll be starting school soon!  Happy Birthday Clarkson!  We love you!!!
