No, not William...me! I will be 13 weeks pregnant tomorrow! Ok..here is everything leading up to this point...
When David and I decided to try for #2, we didn't expect it to happen so fast! Well, at least I didn't. I expected it to take at least a couple of months. Just goes to show, don't start trying until you are sure you are ready!
The baby is due November 13, 2011. We are very excited!
I took the pregnancy test March 3rd, again when David wasn't home. I didn't want to make the same mistake I did with William, so I went straight for the digital test! I didn't want to be one of those 1 in 4 women that misread their pregnancy tests...again :) Anyway, so I took the test early in the morning before David got home from working night shift. I took the same little duck booties (see my very first post if you don't know what I'm referring to), and hung them on the door knob. I knew he would know exactly what this meant! And he did! As you can imagine, he was very happy!
We had our first prenatal appointment at 8 weeks, and the doctor said everything was perfect. We had an ultrasound and the doctor said the baby was measuring exactly to the day! We were also able to hear the heartbeat for the first time - it's always amazing to me how fast it is!
We waited a little longer to tell our friends and family this time, mostly because it's hard to get my family all together at once, and I had been much more nervous about this pregnancy than I was with my first. Anyway, we told my family after Clarkson's birthday party (I was 10 weeks at this point), and told David's parents the next night when they came over for dinner. Everyone seemed shocked and very happy for us! I was also very excited to tell my girl friends on our NY trip! They are all excited to be Auntie's all over again :)
We went for another appointment when I got back from NY at 11 weeks, and to my surprise, my doctor took another ultrasound! I think he was just being nice :) Dr. Henderson was the same doctor who delivered William. Sadly, he will not be working anymore by the time this baby comes. He and his wife are going on a mission for our church (yes, they are LDS too) to Bogota, Columbia. We are very excited for them!
Well, here is the "Kid," as our doctor put it, at 11 weeks!
I've been very lucky with this pregnancy so far. Not much morning sickness at all. The main symptom I've been having is extreme exhaustion! I just want to sleep all the time! I'm already showing some, whether it's noticeable to others or not, I can't really tell. I will start taking Belly Bump pics soon, I just haven't felt like it's cute enough for pictures yet :)
We are so excited, and are anxious to see how William will do with a little brother or sister!
