I missed William's 20 month post, but a lot of not so good things happened. We've been very lucky for a having such a healthy baby. William has hardly ever been sick, but we got a taste of what it's like to have a sick child in his 20th month. After a couple of weeks of having a green nose and just feeling yucky, William had a fever one night, so David took him to the doctor the next day to find out he had his first ever ear infection. They prescribed him an antibiotic, but just a couple of days later he was running another fever of 104. David took him to the doctor again, where they changed his antibiotic. He seemed to be doing better over the weekend, and then Monday, Kay Lee called me at work and asked if I knew William had a rash all over. Because David was sleeping, I came home and took William to the doctor again. Turns out he had Roseola, but just in case it was a reaction to the medicine, they changed his antibiotic for the 3rd time. Poor baby!
Then to make things worse, apparently being on antibiotics can give a baby yeast diaper rash. William had never really had bad diaper rash either, until now. He screamed every time we had to change his diaper, and walked like he had been riding a horse. I went to Walgreens to see if they had a rash medicine for yeast rash. The pharmacist said that the only thing over the counter you could use was Clotrimazole which could be found in the foot isle. Well, what I found was Lotrimin Jock Itch medicine. It worked! It took a week or two to be completely gone, but it really worked. Finally, William was all better! It's tough having a sick baby :(
