Christmas at Granny's

We always look forward to seeing Granny and having some of her famous shrimp for Christmas dinner.  Here she is making Elliott smile :)

We also love having David's cousin, Kelly, and her family back in NC (they had been stationed in CA for some time).   William always has such a good time playing with the girls!

Work Christmas Parties

We were lucky enough to be able to go to the Dixon Hughes Goodman Christmas Party this year held at the Angus Barn Pavilion.  David's parents came to babysit for us.  It was the first time I was away from the Elliott.  He had just hit the one month mark a couple days prior.  Although we were only able to stay at the party a couple of hours, it was nice to see my coworkers and it was nice to have some adult time.  It was also fun to get dressed up and have somewhat a date night with David.  Thanks so much to my in-laws for letting us have a night out!

We also were able to go to the FVPD Christmas Party this year!  It was a lot of fun to see David's coworkers not in uniform and with their families.  Elliott was the youngest baby there at 1 month.  William had a great time playing with the other kids and Santa even brought him an early Christmas present!

Meadow Lights

I love going to see the lights at Meadow every year with my family for Christmas.  One day I hope William and Elliott will look forward to it as much as I do!  William was so excited to ride the train and Campbell and Clarkson pointing out all the lights.  I think David's favorite part is getting candy at the Old Country Store :)

When I looked back at William's pictures from when he was born, I realized how much William and Elliott's newborn pictures looked alike!  

Well, if you couldn't tell (hint: Elliott is the fat baby!)...William is the first picture and Elliott is the second!

Christmas Party at the Worley's

We look forward to Lauren and Casey's Christmas Party every year!  Especially now that we don't get to see everyone as often as we used to.  This was the first Christmas party at the Worley's new house in Wilmington.  Everything was so beautiful, and I couldn't believe how big the live tree was in their foyer!  We had such a great time and Elliott and William enjoyed all the attention of course!

Happy 1 Month to Elliott!

Time is flying by!  Can't believe my baby is already 1 month old as of December 14th!  At 1 month Elliott is starting to smile and trying to coo.  It's the best feeling in the world to have your baby smile at you!  He sleeps much better than William did at this point.  Elliott normally sleeps for a 5 hour block at night - one good thing about having a big baby :)  

So, having two is definitely hard.  Elliott likes to be held...a lot.  He's much more of a cuddle bug than William was - which I love, but it can get a bit overwhelming.  Just getting a shower these days is a luxury.  

William is doing really well with Elliott.  The biggest problem I have is him being too rough with the baby.  When he tries to hug and kiss him, it looks like he might smother him.  So, we're working on being gentle.  Also, one of the more frustrating things is when I finally get Elliott to sleep, William decides he needs to love on him or be really loud all of a sudden - very frustrating.  But it's all worth it when William tries to talk really sweet to the baby, and the baby smiles and laughs at him.  I know one day, they will be best buddies, getting into trouble together ;)

Right now, I still think Elliott is a little clone of William - they look so much alike!  What do you think?  Here are some pictures and a cute video of Elliott at 1 month!

Birthday Party!

We had a small birthday party for William at my mom's house.  There was a Sports theme because William loves playing ball.  We had a great time, and we had William's favorite food - pizza!  And of course birthday cake for dessert!
